Game Title: Game Wizard

Sega Genesis text manual:
Using Codes
Here is a brief description of how to enter codes into the Game Wizard. These codes can be ones you produce yourself using the Program Mode, codes found in this booklet, or Pro Action Replay codes. Remember, the enclosed codes are intended just to get you started. The whole idea behind Game Wizard is for you to discover cool codes for your favorite games.
Activating the Game Wizard
With your system turned off, insert the Game Wizard into the game cartridge slot on your system. Connect the game onto the Game Wizard, making sure that both the Game Wizard and the game are facing forward. In order for the cartridge to fit securely, the Game Wizard switch must be in the down position. Turn on your system with the Game Wizard switch now in the middle position. With your system now on, move the Game Wizard switch to the up position and press the reset button on your system. You should now see the Game Wizard logo followed by the Game Wizard main menu.
Entering in Codes
At the main menu, you have two options. To enter codes choose 1- Exit to code screen by pressing the A button. You can enter up to four codes for a game. The white flashing line underneath the first zero is the cursor. Pressing left and right on the directional pad moves the cursor left or right. Pressing up and down on the directional pad changes the letter or numeral (0-9, A-F). Enter the code on this line. Press the B button after you enter each code to continue on to the next line. When you finish entering all of the codes, press start and you will return to the game. In the opening credits of the game, move the Game Wizard switch to the down position. This activates any codes you have entered correctly.
The Program Mode-Finding Codes
There are five different techniques used to find codes. We will now explain how to perform each of the techniques and when to use them.
Technique #1: Lives/Bullets/Bombs and other changing numbers
This method will be the one you use most often. Use this technique when you can count the item you wish to alter. For example, if you with to have unlimited lives and you start the game with three lives, this is the technique you would use since three is a countable number.
01. Insert the Game Wizard in the normal manner.
02. Turn on your Genesis and move the Game Wizard switch to the up position. Press reset.
03. Choose #2- Start Program Mode from the Main Menu.
04. You are now at the Program Mode Option Menu. Select option #1:Lives/Bullets/Bombs and Other Changing # by pressing the A button. We will be searching for the code for infinite lives.
05. Now, you are at the Changing Number Search Screen. Here you must enter the starting number. The starting number is the amount of lives you start off with. Press the B button to get to the 00. Use the directional pad to change the 00's.
06. Press the A button. The computer is now scanning for codes. It now says there are X amount of possible locations, which means there are that many possible codes. Press A to continue when prompted.
07. You are now back in the Program Mode. There are now four options. Choose option #4:Exit To Code Screen.
08. Press Start without entering in any codes.
09. Now lose a life so that you have one less life than you did when you started and press reset.
10. You are once again at the Program Mode Screen. Select option #1:Continuing Entering Values. You are now at the Changing Numbers Search Screen. Here you must enter the current value number (the number of lives you presently have). Press the A button.
11. If there are more than three possible locations, you must repeat steps 7-10 varying the number of lives you have when you reset the game. This will lessen the number of possible locations.
12. When you have less than four possible locations, press A.
13. You are back at the Program Mode. Choose option #3:List Possible Codes. Write down all the codes.
14. Choose Exit To Code Screen and enter each code separately until you find the correct code.
Technique #2: Special Item/Power
Use this technique when you wish to obtain something you do not always have. For example, you would use this technique when you wish to always have a special item.
01. Insert the Game Wizard and game cartridge in the normal manner.
02. Turn on your Genesis and move the Game Wizard switch to the up position.
03. Start playing the game. Continue playing until you obtain the special item you wish to always have and then press reset. In order for the code to work correctly, you must have the special item before hitting reset.
04. You are now at the Main Menu. Choose option #2: Start Program Mode. At the Program Mode option menu, choose option #2 Special Item/Power.
05. At the Item Power Search menu choose option #1:Accept Current Status as Start. This means that all references to start means that you have the special item. Press the B button.
06. Press the A button when prompted.
07. You are now at the Program Mode menu. Choose option #4:Exit to Code Screen. Without entering any codes, press start.
08. When you begin the game, use up your special item and press reset.
09. Select #1:Continuing Entering Values from the Program Mode screen.
10. At the Special Item/Power Search screen select option #2:Opposite of Start. Press the A button when prompted.
11. Exit to Code screen, press start and begin playing the game. This time, precede further into the game and do not use up your special item and reset the game.
12. Go to the Special Item Power screen. Select option #1:Same As Start, since the start equals having the special item.
13. Repeat steps 8-12 until the possible locations is less than three. Each time you repeat the steps vary your location in the game.
14. When you enter the correct code, you will have the special item throughout the entire game. Please note: This technique may take longer than the others, but in some games it is indispensable!
Technique #3: Energy Live Damage Bar
This technique is used when you wish to have unlimited life and your life is measured by a health meter. When using this technique you must be able to estimate the percentage of energy (50% energy or 25% energy, etc).
01. Insert the Game Wizard and cartridge in the normal manner.
02. Turn the console on and move the Game Wizard switch to the up position.
03. Start the game and as soon as you can move around the screen, press reset before you lose any of your health.
04. Choose option #2: Start Program Mode. At the Program Mode option menu, Choose option #3:Energy Life Damage Bar.
05. This screen will have two options. Choose option #1:Accept Current Value As Start. This now means that all references to start equals 100% health.
06. Exit to Code Screen and without entering any codes press start.
07. Lose some energy & press pause. Notice what percentage the energy is now at. When you have estimated the percentage, press reset.
08. You are now back at the Program Mode. Choose option #1: Continue Entering Values.
09. You are now at the Energy Bar Search Screen. Choose the percentage that health meter was at before you reset the game. Press the A button when prompted.
10. Exit to the Code Screen and without entering any codes press start.
11. As soon as you can move on the screen press reset. You cannot lose any energy.
12. Continue entering values.
13. At the Energy Bar Search Screen. Choose #1: Same as Start. This should lessen your location possibilities.
14. If you need to reduce your possible locations even more, repeat steps 7-10, each time losing a different percentage of energy.
15. When you have less than three possible locations write them down and enter each code separately. You will know you have the right code when any harm inflicted does not affect your health meter.
Technique #4: Timer/Count Down Clock
This technique is used when you wish to have unlimited time. This is extremely helpful in racing games.
01. Insert the Game Wizard and cartridge in the normal manner.
02. Switch the console on and move the Game Wizard switch to the up position.
03. Begin the game and wait until you have 15 seconds on the clock then press the reset button.
04. Select option #2: Start Program Mode.
05. Select option #4:Timer/Count Down Clock. This screen shows two options. Select option #1:Accept Current Status As Start. All references to start will now be to the number 15.
06. You are now back to the Program Mode. Choose #4: Exit To Code Screen.
07. Do not enter any codes and press start.
08. Now, wait until the timer reaches 17 seconds and press the reset button.
09. Choose option #1: Continue Entering Values. You are now at the Timer Clock Search screen.
10. Choose option #2:Greater Than Start and enter the difference, which is 2 by pressing the Bu button (the answer is 2 because 17 is 2 greater than 15).
11. Press the A button. In most cases it gives you a large amount of possible locations. This will be too many to try individually, so continue repeating steps 8-10, resetting the machine at different numbers around 15.
12. When you narrow the possible codes down to three or less, write them down and try them individually. You will know you have the correct codes if the timer is frozen at 16 throughout the game.
Technique #5: Value Change
This technique is used when all other techniques have failed. You must be forewarned that it is not uncommon to make twenty or thirty attempts before a code is found, but this technique is very accurate. The basis behind this technique is what you have when you start compared to what you have during the game. This can pertain to anything (lives, special items, etc).
01. Insert the Game Wizard and cartridge in the normal manner.
02. Turn the console on and move the Game Wizard switch to the up position.
03. Begin playing the game and obtain the item you wish to change the value of. Press reset.
04. Choose option #2 Start Program Mode. Then, choose option #5: Value Change.
05. At the Value Change Search screen choose option #1:Accept Current Value as Start.
06. Exit to Code screen and press start without entering any codes.
07. Play to a similar point in the game where you left off, but this time do not collect the item.
08. Press reset and choose option #1:Continue Entering Codes from the Program Mode.
09. At the Value Change Search screen, choose option #2: Value Is Different.
10. Repeat steps 7-9 several times, each time varying your location and the status of the changing item.
NOTE: This technique may take longer, but it is extremely precise. Once you master it, few codes will escape you!

We realize that finding codes can be tricky as well as time consuming.
